Film Editor/Producer
John Kane is an acclaimed editor and producer in Oakland, CA, focusing on documentaries and brand films. He edited Kids Caught in the Crackdown, an Emmy-winning episode of PBS' FRONTLINE about the US government's detention of migrant children. John also edited the Disney+ docuseries Pick of the Litter and worked on Q Ball, a Fox Sports documentary about a basketball team in San Quentin prison. He co-produced Exiled , a documentary on deported US veterans, which premiered at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and screened for the US House Committee on Veterans Affairs. Notable works include Informant (Grand Jury Prize at DOC NYC) and The Caretaker (POV broadcast, New York Times Op-Doc). Clients include National Geographic Channel, Al Jazeera, Genentech, Eli Lilly and Company, Google, Adobe, and Square. John is fluent in Spanish and holds degrees from Swarthmore College and Stanford University's MFA Program in Documentary Film & Video.
